As a United States Army veteran and an active law enforcement officer, he has extensive experience across federal, state, county, and municipal levels. Greg enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2008, completing eight years as a military police officer, including a combat tour in Afghanistan in 2012 under Operation Enduring Freedom. Following his military service, he joined the New Jersey corrections system as an officer in 2013, then transitioned to the role of sheriff’s officer with his local county sheriff’s office. Currently, he serves in the patrol division of a police department and is an active member of the department’s emergency services unit, specializing in tactical operations.

Taylor is a dedicated protector with a distinguished career in law enforcement that began with the New York City Police Department. Driven by a commitment to put others before himself, Taylor’s journey in policing has been shaped by profound experiences and a deep sense of duty. Early in his career, Taylor faced a life-altering incident when a lone wolf terrorist attacked him and his partner with a hatchet. In a moment of courage and quick thinking, he neutralized the threat, ensuring the safety of his partner and bystanders. This heroic act earned Taylor and his team the Cops of the Year award at an annual NYPD gala, as well as several accolades, including the Police Combat Cross-the second highest honor in the NYPD-and the National Association of Police Organizations’ NAPO Top Cop Award, presented by then Vice President Joe Biden.
